How often to refresh a men's haircut

3 min read

There's no universal answer to 'how often should I get a haircut' — it depends on the style you've chosen, how fast your hair grows, and how sharp you need the edges to stay.

Haircuts with a pronounced fade or crisp temple lines lose their shape fastest: the blend zone grows out in 2–3 weeks and the line starts to blur. If keeping that line sharp matters to you, plan on that interval.

Classic cuts without a hard blend — with even length on the sides, for example — hold their shape longer, usually 4–6 weeks. Growth is less noticeable here, and the cut 'stretches' more naturally.

Longer haircuts and styles meant for growing out don't really need frequent visits in the classic sense. What matters more is regularly trimming the ends and keeping the shape in check while the hair reaches the length you want.

Go by more than the calendar — trust how it feels. If your haircut starts falling apart and takes longer to style in the morning, that's a sign it's time to see your barber again.
